Răzvan Church
Tradition links the first church here to the vornic (high steward) Răzvan, who is said to have founded it in 1620, although mid-16th-century graves found during excavations suggest an even older church. According to the inscription, the church was rebuilt in 1706 by Ianache Văcărescu and functioned for a time as a monastery, dedicated to the Holy Sepulchre. It burned in the Great Fire of 1847, and the parishioners repaired it in 1857–1859, when the interior was painted by Constantin Lecca and Mișu Popp. The 1969 restoration tried to give it back its original form; it is dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God.
