George Severeanu Museum
The museum occupies the house of the radiologist George Severeanu and his wife, Maria, an eclectic building with Neo-Baroque influences dating from around 1860. The Severeanus' collection, donated to the City Hall starting in 1939, includes prehistoric artifacts, Egyptian objects, Greek and Etruscan vases, Tanagra figurines, Roman glassware, Iznik ceramics and a rich numismatic collection. The museum, opened in 1956, was closed in 1995 and restored between 2004 and 2008; since 2017 it has been open to visitors again, as part of the Bucharest Municipality Museum.
