Cuțitul de Argint Church

Cuțitul de Argint (Silver Knife) Church, also called Bărbătescu Nou, stands on Dealul Filaretului (Filaret Hill), near Carol Park. On its site there was a small church without a tower, dating from 1796. The present building was erected between 1906 and 1910, for the jubilee marking King Carol I's 40 years of reign, to plans by Nicolae Ghica-Budești, who drew inspiration from the St. Nicholas Domnesc Church in Iași. The interior was painted by Costin Petrescu between 1908 and 1910. In 1906 a stone cross from 1677, from the time of Antonie Vodă Ruset, was placed next to the church.
