Precupeții Vechi Church

Precupeții Vechi Church, dedicated to All Saints, on Toamnei Street, was built in 1773, in the Phanariot era, by the residents of a neighborhood of small traders and craftsmen. Among the founders mentioned are the monk Gheorghe Ieroschi, Năstase Simioneanu and his wife, Minca, and a few laborers. In 1898 it was repaired, enlarged and repainted, and the iconostasis from that time preserves icons signed by Gheorghe Zograf. The present oil painting, from 1930, is by Keber, and after the 1940 earthquake the large tower was rebuilt.
