Monument to Tudor Vladimirescu

The monument, the work of the sculptor Teodor Burcă, was unveiled in 1934 in the small park next to Precupeții Vechi Church, at the intersection of Precupeții Vechi and Mihai Eminescu streets. The 2.5-meter bronze statue shows Tudor Vladimirescu standing, with his sword raised above his head and a flag in his left hand, on a 5-meter travertine-clad pedestal with a lion on its front. Tudor led the 1821 Revolution in Wallachia and was killed that same year at Târgoviște, on the orders of Alexandru Ipsilanti.
