Nenciu House
The Nenciu House, at 194 Calea Victoriei, whose full name is the Faca-Trubețkoi-Nenciu House, dates from the first decades of the 19th century and was built in the French Neoclassical style, probably by the paharnic Manolache Faca. In 1840 it was bought by Cleopatra Trubețkoi, daughter of the Great Ban Constantin Ghica, who furnished it with pieces brought from Paris and held a literary and musical salon here; Franz Liszt stayed here during his Bucharest concerts. After her death, the house passed to the Nenciu family, whose monogram “N” can still be seen today. It houses the National Authority for Persons with Disabilities.
