Oromolu House

The Oromolu House, on Aviatorilor Boulevard near Piața Victoriei, was designed by the architect Petre Antonescu in the Beaux-Arts style. The façades are richly ornamented with garlands, Greek key patterns, cherubs holding oval cartouches, and vases, and above the entrance there is a shell-shaped canopy of metal and glass; the interior is decorated with stucco work. The name recalls Mihail Oromolu (1875–1945), prefect of Dolj, minister in 1921 and governor of the National Bank. After its restoration, a multi-story block was built next to it.
