Frederic Storck and Cecilia Cuțescu-Storck Museum

The Frederic Storck and Cecilia Cuțescu-Storck Art Museum occupies the house and studio of the two artists, built in 1911–1913 to a design by Alexandru Clavel, in the spirit of Germanic architecture. The façade was decorated by the sculptor Frederic Storck himself, with Romanesque-inspired bas-reliefs and a frieze bearing his own profile, flanked by winged lions. The collection, declared of public utility in 1948 and opened to the public in 1951, brings together works by the three Storck sculptors, paintings by Cecilia Cuțescu-Storck, including the mural “Earthly Love and Spiritual Love”, and watercolors by Carol Popp de Szathmári.
