Armenian Church

The Armenian Church on Carol I Boulevard, dedicated to the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel, is the place of worship of Bucharest's Armenian Apostolic community. The foundation stone was laid in July 1911, and construction, to plans by the architect Dimitrie Maimarolu and a collaborator of Armenian origin, was completed in 1915. Its silhouette is inspired by the cathedral at Echmiadzin. The same courtyard holds the Armenian Library, the bishop's residence and the statue of General Andranik, all also listed as historic monuments.
