Bust of Gheorghe Șincai

The bust of the Enlightenment scholar Gheorghe Șincai (1753–1816), one of the leading figures of the Transylvanian School, was made by the sculptor Ion Schmidt-Faur and unveiled in 1930 in front of the college that bears his name. Three bronze plaques with bas-reliefs are fixed to the pedestal: a bookshelf, a torch, and the She-Wolf with Romulus and Remus. The monument stands at the intersection of Dimitrie Cantemir and Gheorghe Șincai boulevards, in front of the entrance to Tineretului Park, and is listed as a historic monument.
