Monument to Dinicu Golescu

The Monument to Dinicu Golescu, at the intersection of the boulevard that bears his name with Mircea Vulcănescu Street, near the National Military Museum, was completed in 1908. The bronze statue of Dinicu Golescu (1777–1830) is the work of Wladimir Hegel, who, together with Carol Storck and Dimitrie Mirea, also made the busts of his four sons: Ștefan, Nicolae, Radu and Alexandru (Albu) Golescu. Two of them, Ștefan and Nicolae, became prime ministers. The ensemble, with a marble and stone pedestal, is one of Hegel's last major monumental works.
