Boteanu Church
Boteanu Church dates back to 1682, when Master Mihul built a church here dedicated to the Beheading of St. John the Baptist. It is also known as Bradu-Boteanu, after a tall fir tree (brad) that grew beside it and after the Boteanu neighborhood in which it stood. After the 1977 earthquake, when the ruins of the Dunărea apartment block were cleared, the neighboring Enei Church was also demolished, and the Boteanu parish took over its dedication, having been called Boteanu–Ienii ever since. A small fragment of the relics of St. John Jacob is also kept here.
