Curtea Veche Museum

The Curtea Veche Museum, in the Lipscani area, preserves in the open air the remains of the former princely court of Bucharest, the city's seat of power. Most of the ruins came to light during the archaeological excavations of 1953, followed by further research between 1967 and 1972. Visitors can see construction techniques from the 14th to the 19th centuries, elements of the old water supply system, the palace's Turkish bath, architectural decorations and fragments of mural painting.
