The Runners Statue
“The Runners” statue, on Calea Victoriei, is a 1913 copy of a work by the French sculptor Alfred Boucher. It originally stood in front of the Romanian Athenaeum, from where it was moved in 1966, its place being taken by the statue of Mihai Eminescu by Gheorghe D. Anghel. For a while it stood in front of the Dinamo stadium, on Șoseaua Ștefan cel Mare, and was then brought back to Calea Victoriei, where it stands today. It is listed as a historic monument.
